Villa Aura is brand new to the market. It's new-built (2019) and it is decorated with stylish, modern furniture and appliances. The interiors have been set up with fine taste, and lots of love, with our guests in mind, so consider this your place too.

The 70m2 villa is built is 2 floors.

Here's a brief description of the villa's spaces:

In the lounge - dinning area at the ground floor there is:

- large Sofabed (for 2 adults)
- Smart TV, 43' with satellite channels and Netflix
- wide patio door with mosquito net, onto a spacious, sunny terrace, the front garden and the private pool
- A/C unit (cooling-heating)

Here you'll also find a modern dinning table for 4 people, next to a fully stocked and equipped kitchen with everything you need for cooking and more:

- your Nespresso machine!!
- oven, stove, fridge, kettle, toaster, blender/mixer
- dishwasher
- plenty of pots/pans/platters
- Serving utensils

A spacious half bathroom is here with washing machine.

The bedroom, lies at the upper floor, it can be reached via a wide staircase and it's equipped with:

THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Where you'll be

Villa Aura lies at the edge of ''Skalani'', at altitude of 244 meters and a distance of about 10 km from the city of Heraklion.

For the first time the name of the village is found in a deed of 1271 and also in several papers in the next few years until the first Venetian census of 1577. We can find it in all subsequent inventories to date, integrated in different municipalities according to the administrative reforms that followed.

It is a village with a strong presence in history and tradition in Heraklion, rich vineyard and olive products and industrious and hospitable people.

Today the village is full of life and growth. It features traditional and modern shops, butchers, hairdressers, salons, clinics, pharmacies, services, winery, raki, focal centers - restaurants, taverns, ouzo and meze, constituting a "small Heraklion" in the Region of Heraklion.

The active Cultural Association of the village organizes a number of events in recurring basis, such as the two-day festival in celebration of St. John (August 29), with a procession of the image of the Saint (accompanying the Municipal band) and traditional music festivals, church service in the chapel of Agios Nikolaos in Siganou, feast of Our Lady (August 15), Halloween events, musical evenings and other summer festivities.

This place is paradise for wanderers and trekking fans. The visitors can visit several places of natural beauty (Siganos mill , Agios Minas in "Aposami" , etc.) or to follow natural hiking paths as in Canyon of Karteros – Skalani, with recreation area next to the wooden bridge, the pine forest of Agia Irini in Spilia and more. You can also visit the very well organized «Vegetable municipal garden» in the village.

The village square with its picturesque cafes, offers great opportunities to enjoy live traditional music, as the village has a large and famous tradition of Cretan musicians, authors and artists (Abyssinia, Vassilakis Papadoperakis Thomas and Aspasia, etc..).

Things to know

Villa Aura lies at the outskirts of village Skalani, with its central square and all its amenities and shops, mentioned in our Neighbourhood description, only 5 minutes walk away. The whole area is ideal for nature lovers with lots of places to explore. Please, be advised that this area is ideal for privacy and relax and thus not particularly close to public transportation. Therefore it is recommended that you rent a car, throughout your stay, in order to easily move around.

General Policy

HOUSE RULES

• No smoking - Although smoking is prohibited everywhere inside our villa, feel free to smoke in patios, garden and pool area :)
• No pets
• No parties or events
• Check-in: 4:00PM - 12:00AM
• Check out before 10:00AM
• Kindly refrain from playing loud music or making noise during the Greek ''Siesta'' time, which is 3pm to 5pm.
• Our swimming pool is 1,50 meters deep, so it should be perfectly safe for our guests to use. However, your own personal caution and full attention is necessary to avoid accidents. By booking our property for your holiday, you acknowledge that you accept the responsibility to protect yourselves and your children or travelling companions.
• 4 GUESTS maximum. Your reservation includes yourself and everyone else in your travelling party. Our guests are not permitted to have visitors or accommodate any other person, friend or new acquaintance in our property.

Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATION POLICY

• Holidaymakers who cancel at least 14 days before check-in will get back 100% of the amount that they've paid.
• If they cancel between 7 and 14 days before check-in, they'll get back 50%.
• Otherwise, they won't get a refund.

Should you wish to cancel your booking once it has been confirmed, the cancellation must be made in writing (email). The processing fee for a cancellation is €50 plus applicable Bank Charges to be advised at the time of cancellation.
