Quinta do Mar is in Caloura, an exclusive area on the south coast of São Miguel. Caloura has a well-documented micro-climate which provides one of the sunniest spots in the Azores.

This former winery has been tastefully renovated/extended and brought back to life by Chris and Nick, resulting in a blend of tasteful, modern spaces and original features. The Quinta offers very comfortable rooms, plenty of secluded terraces and relaxing common areas and gardens.

The ever-popular English style breakfasts are served in the Pavilion and covered terrace set above the pool. All dietary requirements are catered for. There are views over the orange grove to the ocean and the 'Ilheu de Vila Franca'. This is a large shady area perfect for relaxing. Here guests can enjoy a selection of drinks from our self-service 'honesty bar'. Tea and coffee making facilities are also provided here; complimentary cakes and cookies are available, perfect after a long hike!

Here, there is a wood burning pizza oven, tasty Neapolitan style pizzas are available on certain pre-arranged evenings.

There are three large en-suite bedrooms and a junior suite; all rooms have king size or twin beds, hardwood flooring, marble bathrooms with bath and shower. A private balcony with sea view, air conditioning and flat screen TVs. All rooms have card entry soundproof doors. The junior suite is an extra-large room and, in addition to the above, has a sofa an armchair and 400 thread count Egyptian cotton bedding and Coffee making facilities. Molton Brown toiletries are provides in all rooms, There is convenient fast fibre wifi-6 access points in all of the rooms and suites.

Our new Celebration Suites have 50sq metres of private garden each. Designed by Ana Rita Soares, the suites are extremely comfortable and beautifully furnished. They are accessed from a private entrance and corridor. Both have super comfy king size beds with 400-thread count Egyptian cotton sheets and fluffy duvet. There is a bedroom, a hallway and a sitting room. The extra-large bathroom has a double shower 'wet room', beautiful tiling and Grohe fittings. Molton Brown toiletries are provided. There is climate control throughout. Both suites have a large TV with a bouquet of channels and a WiFi-6 access point. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided along with a one-time 'pre-stocked minbar' for your use.

Quinta do Mar has a professional laundry on-site to take special care of our sheets and towels and tablecloths etc. We have a laundry service for guests' clothing too.

Guests can connect to the WiFi-6 internet anywhere on the property.

Plenty of off-road parking is available around the property.
