Detached Family Room

This Detached Family Room is a standalone unit that the owner personally renovated.

It is a space created by renovating a detached cottage attached to a 70-year-old traditional Japanese house.

The ceilings, walls, and floors are all lined with natural wool insulation.

Parts of the ceiling and walls are made of Tenryu cedar, the walls feature Spanish plaster, and the floors combine Tenryu cedar with tatami mats made from domestically grown igusa rush. From the subfloor to the finishes, this space is crafted almost entirely from natural materials.

In particular, the kitchen table is a handmade river-wood table crafted by the owner, making it a one-of-a-kind piece.

With a private kitchen, toilet, and washroom, this room is highly recommended for couples seeking privacy or families looking for a quiet getaway.

~Before Your Stay~

Kawanehon-cho, home to Local Stay Voketto, is an area rich in nature.

As a result, insects such as spiders and centipedes may occasionally appear. However, as we strive to avoid harming them whenever possible, we do not keep insecticides on the premises.

While we do our best to prevent insects from entering the guesthouse, we ask that guests who are particularly uncomfortable with insects refrain from staying with us.
