Created over the winter of 2020/2021, the largest room in Limolo already boasts a star-studded résumé. Designed and built by architect Luciano Pia, the structure is a model of green building. The design was first used in 2017 as a set for the film “Figlia Mia” directed by Laura Bispuri with Valeria Golino and Alba Rohrwacher, hosting several scenes of the only Italian film nominated for the 2018 Berlin Film Festival.
A mezzanine formed of beams shaped to evoke the prows and sterns of classic sailboats overlooks the room and is home to a small library. Illuminated by a roof window, the room has a headboard that lowers to serve as a desk, the most recent reincarnation of a centuries-old front door. Driftwood washed up during storms and a vintage mirror decorate the bathroom, which is equipped with a walk-in shower.
The decision was made to use only rustic lime plaster on the walls, allowing guests to enjoy the changing reflections and plays of light throughout the day.
