Discover La Palud-sur-Verdon: 

Close to the Verdon grand canyon, La Palud-sur-Verdon lies halfway between Castellane and Moustiers-Sainte-Marie. A base camp for climbing enthusiasts, La Palud-sur-Verdon is an astonishing village. Village life revolves around its two bars, each with its own special atmosphere. At the Lou Cafétié bar, a giant poster of the Escalès cliff reminds you that the grand canyon awaits you, with its 500 climbing routes. A little higher up, you can enjoy authentic Italian cuisine since a family originally from Calabria took over this bar two years ago. The atmosphere is less sporty. On the other hand, Italian is spoken just as much as French, and much more dolce, tiramisu and mascarpone!

Water sports and canyoning:
Unless you're an expert, you'll need to choose a guide who will also provide you with the equipment you need for water trekking or canyoning. On this site, we offer a wide choice of half-day, short-day and full-day aqua-tours. Once you've selected the tour you'd like to go on, you can book it online. 
La Palud's guides offer a range of refreshing hikes. Equipped with neoprene wetsuits, you can explore the local canyons. There are many to choose from: from simple strolls with swimming, jumps and natural slides to more technical canyons with abseils under waterfalls.

The route des crêtes: 
Coming to La Palud without taking the route des crêtes would be a bit like going to Cairo without seeing the pyramids! This route offers no fewer than 15 lookouts.

Watching griffon vultures, Europe's largest birds: 
For vulture-watching, head for the Dent d'Aire lookout on the Route des Crêtes. Located upstream from La Carelle, this is one of the most beautiful and grandiose lookouts. Vultures are very curious and will also come to watch you. You can see them from both above and below.
