Discover a peaceful haven for two at Starboard Light, a beautifully-appointed terraced cottage nestled in the heart of the historic coastal town of Lymington, Hampshire. With the stunning river view from the bedroom, lively high street, marinas and riverside just a short stroll away, and the best Pub in Lymington just a few steps away - you can enjoy the best of town, sea and forest all in one unforgettable stay.
Starboard Light is a charming traditional cottage on Captain’s Row — one of the loveliest and most historic streets in Lymington. With beautiful views over the river and just steps from the excellent Kings Head pub (famed for its great food), it offers an unbeatable location. The cobbled lanes with boutique shops and independent restaurants lead you down to the town quay, all right on your doorstep.
The cottage comfortably accommodates two guests, which we feel is ideal. However, by request, it can sleep up to four with advanced notice so that we can open up the access: there is a mezzanine sleeping area above the main bedroom this does require requires dexterity and care as is accessed by a ladder, so it will not be suitable for everyone (Extra person fee required when available - PLEASE ENQUIRE BEFORE BOOKING)
This is a traditional fisherman’s cottage, lovingly and tastefully refurbished. It’s a real gem — cosy, characterful, and right in the heart of Lymington’s old town and quay area.
Starboard Light is perfect for couples looking for a peaceful bolt-hole from which to explore Lymington and the New Forest. Properties with river views are extremely rare in the town, and you can watch the boats coming and going right from the bedroom window.
The cottage is clean, private, and pet-friendly, but please be aware there is no outdoor space, so guests will need to take their dogs out for walks. With it being a 5 minute walk to Lymington Railway Station, it's a great choice for those without a car.
This charming cottage has everything you need in a small package. It's thoughtfully laid out and well equipped.
The excellent central location does mean you're likely to notice the hustle and bustle of the vibrant and wonderful market town so light sleepers should be aware of this.
It is located in close proximity to a fabulous pub (The Kings Head) which cooks wonderful meals but you will get tempted by the smells of the cooking during service hours when the windows are open.
There is no outside space at the cottage, so whilst we are happy to accept your four legged friends - please be mindful of the fact that they will need to be walked before bed and in the mornings as there is no garden in which they can be let out into.
