Seaside Village Springfield Cottage – Stylish Coastal Retreat in Milford on Sea, with New Forest & Sea Within Easy Reach

Nestled on a peaceful lane in the heart of delightful Milford on Sea, Springfield Cottage is a beautifully refurbished coastal home offering the perfect blend of seaside style and countryside tranquillity. Just a short stroll from the vibrant village centre, independent shops, welcoming pubs, cafés, restaurants. Lymington and Christchurch are a short drive away. Springfield is perfectly placed for relaxed getaways with family or friends.

Milford on Sea is one of the south coast’s hidden gems, with characterful pubs around the village green, excellent places to eat, beachside drinks, cosy cafés and boutique delis. Step out for coastal adventures, from crab hunting at Keyhaven and the scenic Hurst Spit walk to historic Hurst Castle, to gentle beach strolls, watersports and breathtaking views across the Solent towards the Isle of Wight and The Needles. The New Forest is also within easy reach, offering ancient woodland, open heathland, cycling routes and the chance to spot free-roaming ponies.

Inside, the cottage has a warm modern coastal feel. The bright open-plan kitchen, dining and living space is made for gathering, with stylish finishes, comfortable seating and doors opening directly onto the private garden with BBQ, outdoor dining area and lawn. It is perfect for morning coffee, family meals outside or evening drinks after a day exploring.

For quieter moments, the separate drawing room offers cosy sofas, a desk for light work or puzzles, and a smart TV — ideal for movie nights, reading or simply unwinding.

Springfield comfortably sleeps 6 guests across 3 bedrooms, with 2 double bedrooms and 1 bunk room, making it a great choice for families, couples or friends looking for a stylish coastal base close to the village, beach and New Forest.

Please note that this is a family home and therefore we require our guests to treat it with respect. Any damages must be reported and paid for. Please do not upset our neighbours with excessive noise. 

Rubbish must be disposed of in refuse sacks on departure (no loose rubbish in the outside bins please as they then don't get collected). Please leave the property tidy with all washing up done and put away. No additional guests are allowed beyond the guests numbers included in the booking. 

No parties including stags or hens.

Smoking is permitted in the garden only but please note that we will not tolerate cigarette ends being left at the property especially in the garden beds. Absolutely no smoking in the property is allowed (£150 penalty if signs of smoking have been found). If the property has been found to be in need of a deep clean after the guests departure, an additional charge will be applicable at a rate of £25 per hour.

Dogs:

- No dogs on furniture, beds or upstairs 

- ⁠Dog poo must be cleared away and disposed of

- ⁠Dogs that bark a lot are not permitted

- ⁠Dogs are not to be left unattended in the property

- ⁠No dogs under 6 months old and dogs must be house trained

- ⁠Well behaved dogs only

- ⁠Please bring towels to dry off wet dogs prior to entering the house
