This is a mountain climbing tour that takes you to Mt. Nishihotaka-Maruyama (2,452m above sea level), one of the most popular viewing spots in the Japanese Northern Alps, one of the most prominent mountain areas in Japan. We will take the Shin-Hotaka ropeway to the Nishi-Hotakaguchi station at 2,156 meters above sea level. From there, we will use crampons and ice axes to walk the trail to reach Maruyama in about 1.5 hours. From the 2,452-meter summit, you will enjoy a panoramic view of the famous peaks of the Japanese North Alps, including Mt. Experienced guides will accompany you for a safe and enjoyable climbing experience. The tour fee includes all necessary winter climbing equipment (crampons, ice axes, hard shell, beacon, and snow boots), which we will prepare for you.The tour will include training in crampon walking and how to use ice axes (but at a hands-on level). Please make sure to stay at the Raicho Onsen Inn the night before the tour. There will also be a one-hour lecture the day before on how to use crampons, ice axes, and beacons.
